April Recap
cp:yoga friends and family - time is flying by. we are almost in the month of June, which is leaving me with some tough choices to make about how cp:yoga should continue to be used, but first let’s celebrate the work we did in April, together.
thanks to this community we were able to raise $350 to support Stop AAPI Hate, an organization bringing communities together to stand up against the violence that fell on our Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) brothers and sisters, in the wake of COVID-19. you all continue to amaze me - your dedication to yourselves and the community at large, fills my heart with so much joy. this donation will help continue to make resources available for education, community-based safety and restorative justice efforts and support necessary legislative efforts to protect our AAPI brothers and sisters in the future.
many of you already know, that this month our energy has been focused on supporting our minds matter, a student-led organization working towards the day when no teen dies by suicide. this organization is near and dear to my heart, as a friend and former teammate is at the helm, steering this organization after the loss of her brother to suicide. the losing a sibling is extremely difficult, i know this first hand, but i am so proud of the efforts she is making to help ensure others do not have to experience that same pain. more importantly, this organization empowers other students to make an impact and show their peers support. if you are interested in learning more, please take time to visit their website and do not hesitate to reach out.
thank you again for continuing to show up, be present and give back. with light, love + community, cp
